How We Earn
FalconryLab is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
When you purchase a product through one of our affiliate links, the retailer pays FalconryLab a small referral commission, typically between 1% and 10% of the purchase price depending on the product category. This commission comes from the retailer's marketing budget, not from your pocket. You pay exactly the same price whether you use our link or navigate to the product independently. These commissions help fund the ongoing development of FalconryLab, including server costs, our free educational article library, and continued development of the FalconryLab iOS app. We also occasionally partner with falconry equipment manufacturers who offer affiliate programs directly, and the same transparency principles apply to those relationships.
What This Means for You
When you click on product links on our site and make a purchase on Amazon, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This helps support the ongoing development of FalconryLab and our free educational content.
Products We Recommend
Today our affiliate links point to books only — the falconry manuals, raptor biology texts, and field guides listed in our recommended reading and resources pages. These are titles long established in the falconry literature and commonly recommended by sponsors to apprentices.
Our equipment guides describe gloves, hoods, jesses, telemetry, scales, mews and hunting gear in detail, but those guides currently contain no affiliate links. If we add equipment links in future, they will be marked the same way and this page will be updated first. We do not link to products simply because they offer higher commissions.
Editorial Standards
Our editorial content is produced independently of our affiliate relationships. Product recommendations in our articles, equipment guides, and learn section are based solely on quality, durability, and suitability for falconry use. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive reviews, and we will never recommend a product that we believe is overpriced, poorly made, or unsuitable for the purpose described. If a product we previously recommended declines in quality or a better alternative becomes available, we update our recommendations accordingly. Our editorial team maintains full independence from our affiliate partnerships, and no affiliate partner has approval or review rights over our content.
Our Promise
- Honest recommendations: We only recommend products we believe are genuinely useful for falconers
- No pay-for-placement: Our recommendations are based on quality, not commission rates
- Transparency: Affiliate links are clearly marked on our site
- Your choice:You're never obligated to purchase through our links
Advertising and Your Data
This website is also supported by display advertising through Google AdSense, which is separate from the affiliate relationships described above. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer records that the click came from us, usually by setting a cookie on their own domain — that happens on their site and is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. For what falconrylab.com itself collects, see our Website Privacy & Cookie Notice. The FalconryLab iOS app contains no advertising and no affiliate links.
