Our Mission
Falconry is one of humanity's oldest partnerships with nature, dating back thousands of years. Yet falconers today still rely on paper notebooks, spreadsheets, and fragmented tools to manage their birds.
FalconryLab was born from a simple idea: falconers deserve tools as sophisticated as the art they practice. Tools that work in the field, respect their data, and make tracking weight, training, and sessions effortless.
We're building the companion app every falconer wishes they had—one that enhances the experience without getting in the way.
Our Journey
FalconryLab started in 2024 as a personal project born from frustration. After years of managing bird weights in spreadsheets, scribbling training notes in field notebooks that got wet and torn, and losing valuable hunting data to forgotten details, we decided to build the tool we wished existed. The first prototype was a simple iOS app that did one thing well: daily weight tracking with automatic trend analysis.
Today FalconryLab is in active beta testing with falconers across the United States, from first-year apprentices managing their initial Red-tailed Hawk to master falconers tracking multiple raptors across species. Every week brings new feature requests, bug reports, and conversations with users that push the platform closer to our vision of the complete falconry companion.
We are building FalconryLab for the long term. This is not a venture-backed startup chasing rapid growth. It is a product created by falconers for falconers, designed to grow sustainably alongside the community it serves. Our commitment is to build tools that genuinely improve the daily practice of falconry, respect our users' data and privacy, and contribute to the preservation and growth of this ancient tradition.
Vision for the Future
Our roadmap extends well beyond weight tracking and training logs. We envision FalconryLab as the central platform for the falconry community, connecting practitioners through a purpose-built forum, enabling data-driven insights through aggregated and anonymized trend analysis, and providing educational resources that help the next generation of falconers learn from collective experience. Future features include collaborative hunt mapping, breeding record management, and integration with veterinary care tracking.
We also believe strongly in falconry's role in wildlife conservation. Every falconer is an ambassador for raptor welfare, and FalconryLab will continue to develop features that support responsible raptor management and contribute to the data that wildlife agencies use to monitor raptor populations. By making it easier for falconers to maintain accurate records, we help strengthen the regulatory framework that protects both raptors and the sport.
